A 35-YEAR-OLD man threw a stone through the windscreen of a lorry as it was being driven round a motorway exit roundabout.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Ian Gibbons then head-butted a police officer who found him sitting at the side of the road where the incident had occurred.
Gibbons, of Pritchard Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and police assault. The case was adjourned until November 17 for the preparation of pre-sentence reports.
Michael Blacklidge, defending, said Gibbons had been released from prison and had gone to a drug rehabilitation programme organised by the THOMAS (Those on the Margins of Society) project.
He was asked if he wanted to take time to visit his daughter on her birthday but found her mother had moved.
When he eventually caught up with them he was not made welcome.
"He got drunk and damaged the window," said Mr Blacklidge.
"He remained sitting at the side of the road but then for some reason resisted arrest."
