DAVID Eatock conjured up a stoppage time equaliser for Chorley after Kendal had seemingly snatched the points with an 89th minute goal.
The visitors recovered of Danny Mills' second minute header that gave the Magpies a perfect start in front of new manager Mark Patterson.
David Foster's carbon copy header brought the sides level in the 49th minute then Lee Bracey dived to his left to save Stuart Cliff's penalty.
But the challenge that led to it saw Ian Leather receive a red card and Andy Whittaker took advantage of the extra man with a 25-yard strike.
But with the Magpies staring a fifth successive defeat in the face, Eatock cleverly weaved past two challenges before planting in the equaliser.
