COUNCILLOR Dave Harling's 'wet' remarks (Letters, October 15) stating that he is pleased that I have resigned from the British National Party -- though he is not pleased that I wish to continue as a councillor and furthermore also suggests that my views towards the local community -- are destructive rather than constructive.
Firstly, as a councillor I am here to serve the people of my borough, not least those in my own ward of Mill Hill. I am not here to make any of the other councillors happy.
If this is currently best done under my own self-organisation, without that of a political party, then so be it.
I am here to serve the public.
As to my political views regarding the local community, I am totally against the politically correct discrimination peddled and endorsed by the current Labour group in the borough.
You all know exactly what I am saying when I say that discrimination goes both ways.
My granddad used to tell me: "When the Reaper approaches, it is the fattest pigs that squeal the loudest!"
COUNCILLOR ROBIN EVANS, Mill Hill Ward, Blackburn with Darwen Council.
