BUS operator Burnley & Pendle Travel (B&P) will introduce a new service between Burnley and Accrington, from Monday, November 3.

The X63, running via Rosegrove, Hapton and Huncoat, will take only 25 minutes to do this new direct journey.

B&P is introducing this service to replace journeys being withdrawn by Stagecoach.

The X63 will run hourly on Monday to Saturdays from Burnley Bus Station stand M between 6.25am and 5.30pm, and hourly from Accrington Infant Street stand M between 6.50am and 6.05pm.

B&P commercial director, Duncan Allan, said: "We are very pleased to be able fill a gap in the local bus network by extending the range of our inter-urban routes between Burnley and Accrington."

The withdrawal of Stagecoach X63 has also removed direct Stagecoach buses between Burnley and Preston. This route is already covered by B&P's sister company, Lancashire United, with its service 152 which runs every 30 minutes between Burnley, Padiham, Blackburn and Preston.
