HARD on the heels of last season's successful event Bury FC will be holding a Ladies' Day on Saturday for the visit of Yeovil Town.
Once again, players and supporters of Bury Girls & Ladies FC will be the guests of the Gigg Lane outfit after the two clubs entered a formal partnership as part of an initiative backed by the Nationwide League.
Among the fundraising activities on the day will be a sponsored penalty shoot-out at half-time and a bucket collection outside the ground.
The Girls and Ladies club have been going from strength to strength on and off the field.
In the Ladies FA Cup the open age side disposed of both Stockport and Durham in the preliminary rounds.
They then excelled to get through a tricky away tie at Blyth Spartans 4-2 with goals from Leanne Brooks (2), Cheryl Headley and Di McLean.
Meanwhile Under-12s Chantelle Johnson, Rhiannon Brooks, Lizzy Lunn and Francesca Sullivan, Under-14 Natasha Priestley and Under 16s Leesa Haydock, Jess Barnes, Eleanor Murphy and Hannah Bailey have all been selected for the FA regional centres of excellence at Blackburn and Stockport.
