COUNTERFEIT CDs, DVDs, videos were among a £130,000 haul of goods destroyed this week.
The fake merchandise has been seized by officers from Blackburn with Darwen Council in recent months following raids on stores, businesses and car boot sales across the borough.
Previously the dodgy discs have been incinerated but now, thanks to a new partnership, the counterfeit goods are being remodelled into new goods.
They are set to be made into fish tanks and supermarket shelf edging at a factory in Shropshire.
The new arrangements have come about thanks to a partnership between the Trading Standards North West Intellectual Property Group and Scrap Plastic Solutions. Lancashire County Council also sent off its first consignment of discs to be recycled this week.
The county council seizes some £250,000 worth of counterfeit goods each year.
