POLICE are appealing for Blackburn clubbers to come forward after a serious assault near a town centre night club.

Two 35-year-old Asian men were attacked after a night out near Utopia Night Club in Lord Square. One man suffered serious facial injuries.

The disturbance happened on October 11, the night of the Turkey v England football match.

After an incident on the night club's dance floor, three men were thrown out by bouncers.

They are believed to have followed the two Asians to the top of the ramp leading to the car park from Exchange Street, where the attack took place at about 1am on the Sunday morning.

Police want anyone with more information on the three men to come forward.

One of the offenders is described as white male, 20 to 25 years old, stockily built and was wearing a red t-shirt.

PC Davies said: "This is an continuing police investigation into an incident which occurred in Blackburn.

"Police are making a further appeal to anyone visiting the town centre this weekend who may have information.

"There will be additional police officers on duty today as part of the commitment to high visibility policing in Blackburn."
