LONG term injury victims Matt Barrass and George Clegg took major steps to full fitness by turning out for the reserves at Shrewsbury Town on Wednesday evening.
Midfielder Clegg got in a full 90 minutes while Barrass played an hour in the match that the Shrews won 3-1. David Buchanan scored the Shakers' goal.
Virus victim Chris Porter also got in 90 minutes to give manager Andy Preece a boost ahead of the FA Cup first round tie at home to Rochdale.
Former Shaker Colin Cramb scored against his former club from the penalty spot.
