TRAINS travelling through Accrington last night were forced to slow to around 5mph after reports of a man walking along the tracks.
A member of the public rang the police to say they had seen a man dangling from the Willows Lane bridge after a dispute with his girlfriend.
The 17-year-old Accrington man then began to walk along the railway line which caused the trains in both directions to slow down while police carried out a search of the area.
Officers discovered the man unharmed, but upset. He was arrested, but later released without charge.
