TWO Astley & Tyldesley racers were in action in the British Indoor Individual Cycle Speedway Championships.
Becky Heslop, left, was keen to go one better on the runner-up placing she took in the corresponding outdoor U13 Final in August.
Second place first time out, Becky put in a great performance to win her next four races, to finish with a total of 19 points, out of a possible 20. This put her in a three rider run-off for the title but third place was scant reward for a great performance who now has a silver and a bronze medal.
Mike Hack took his place in the Veterans Final, and a steady performance saw him score 13 points, to finish in 7th place. Stoke's Frank Finnigan, who races for Astley & Tyldesley on a secondary registration in Northern League events, won the title for the fourth year in succession, and the fifth time in all, scoring a maximum 20 points.
