HINDSFORD were held to 2- 2 at home against Ashton Athletic on Saturday.

Despite a bright start, Hindsford fell behind early in the game when a ball out of defence was intercepted and Mike Hamilton broke through to score.

Hindsford fought back and had the majority of possession but Ashton were dangerous on the break and Barry Edge had to be alert and made good saves when needed. Hindsford continued to press and Matt Toone came close to scoring when his shot was turned round the post.

Hindsford continued to dominate in the second half and Dan Toone had a strong header well saved .The equaliser came finally when Simon Hampson found Dave Fashou who scored with a good turn and shot.

Hindsford created numerous chances and took a deserved lead when another fine pass from Hampson put Neil Critchley through and his superb volley gave the keeper little chance. Hindsford seemed to have won the game but with the game into stoppage time Ashton broke away and won a free kick from which Peter Tarpey scored the equaliser.

The reserves lost 3-1 at Royton Town; scorer Rob Dey. On Saturday the games are against Milton; the first at home and the reserves away. Kick off 2pm.
