THE National League One's 40-28 victory over the touring New Zealand 'A' side on Sunday had its origins in Leigh.
Not only was the game played at Hilton Park but the bulk of the damage was done by players with considerable Leigh connections.
Centurions' full-back Neil Turley bagged 20 points from two tries and six goals while Leigh scrum-half John Duffy walked away with the man of the match award for a commanding performance.
Leigh's other representatives - Alan Hadcroft, Sean Richardson and Danny Halliwell - all stood out with Hadcroft helping set up a try for ex-Leigh team-mate Radney Bowker and Richardson supplying the scoring pass for Gareth Haggerty.
Leigh based Stuart Litter and Simon Baldwin also crossed and there was another try from Malcom Alker.
