BLACKBURN'S refurbished remembrance garden is set to be ready in time for Sunday's service.
The garden, in Corporation Park, has been brought back to life as part of the council's multi-million pound work to renovate the park.
Last month, bosses in Blackburn with Darwen Council pledged the work would be completed in time and they have delivered their promise.
Phil Watson, chief executive of the council, said it was imperative the work was completed in time for the annual Remembrance Service when tributes are paid to servicemen who died fighting for their country.
And Mr Watson said if the work was not completed the garden off Preston New Road would be made tidy enough for the services to go ahead.
Workmen were due to take down temporary fencing around the garden today and complete the finishing touches.
Work carried out includes new planting, new paving and cleaning.
