PADIHAM have received a blow ahead of tomorrow's NWCL Division Two home game with Chadderton.

Craig Williamson is set to miss the game because of a knee injury sustained in Tuesday's win at Oldham Town.

"It's a big blow because he's the workhorse in midfield and he's the most versatile player we've got," said Padiham boss Vince Overson.

Williamson's absence means James Gill might have to move back into midfield, allowing Adrian Lamb to play up front.

Overson is confident that his team still has the ability to overcome struggling Chadderton.

He said: "Everyone is expecting us to beat them but if our attitude isn't right it's a banana skin for us.

"We need to go out and knock them off their stride. We did it at their place so there's no reason why we can't do it at ours. But we can't be over- complacent.

DARWEN make a welcome return to NWCL Division Two action tomorrow when they go to Ashton Town.

Boss Steve Wilkes is hoping to transfer the form that saw his team win 3-1 against Formby in the Division Two Trophy into league points, but their progress was interrupted by a 4-3 defeat at home to Curzon Ashton in the League Challenge Trophy last Saturday.

COLNE are the only local side not in league action tomorrow, going to Blackpool Mechanics in the Division Two Trophy second round.
