SCOUT leaders in Turton are hoping more people will come along and volunteer to help them as they are suffering a shortage of helpers.

There is no shortage of boys wishing to join the 1st Turton (St Anne's) Scout Group, however more adults are needed to look after them.

All prospective leaders are given help to work towards their warrants, being assigned a more senior leader as a mentor.

The training sessions are quite informal with the opportunity to mix with leaders from groups throughout the county.

Training and uniforms are paid for by the group once the leader has received his or her warrant.

People are also being sought to help on the group's executive committee, which assists in raising funds for the group.

Anyone who has spare time on their hands and would like to get involved should contact Jim Wood on 01254 852973.
