SOMETHING fishy hit Ramsbottom's streets this weekend when visitors to the regular farmers' market tried a variety of mouth watering delights.

Visitors were shown how to cook seabream, scallops and delicacies such as Thai fishcakes at the Ramsbottom Farmers' Market, Local Produce and Crafts Fair.

Chef Richard Cowper from High Seas Seafoods gave cookery demonstrations and a step-by-step guide to cooking fish with samples and tasters available throughout the day.

In a change to the usual location, the indoor Farmers' Market and Crafts Fair took place in the Grant Arms function room.

The market contains over 25 stalls offering a vast array of local produce such as jams, bread and homemade fudge, fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, meat including ostrich meat as well as savoury pies and seafood.

Homemade crafts and cards as well as paintings and other locally-made items were also available.

The next farmers' market will take place on Sunday, December 14.
