AFTER reading about Dennis Edward and the Darwen pensioner's protest about the rubbish recycling scheme, I feel that as a Blackburn pensioner, a 74-year-old widow, I must present an opposite view.
I think that the recycling scheme is the best thing since sliced bread! It enables me to get rid of my garden rubbish quickly and easily and because I am retired, I have ample time to separate my paper, wash out my bottles and tins and wrap my household rubbish. Thus causing no health hazards.
Not all pensioners close their eyes and ears to progressive changes.
