I THINK it's disgusting not to be able to have a memorial service around the cenotaph in Harwood. There has been one for years.
I come from Clayton-le-Moors, but now live in Coventry, where we all stand round the cenotaph in the street and pay homage to all who lost their lives in all wars.
That means First and Second World Wars and now I have a son-in-law and nephew in Iraq and I wish them God speed.
My nephew Bradley Beresford, is in the Queen's Lancashire Regiment. He once lived in Windsor Road, Clayton-le-Moors, but now lives in Catterick..
Our boys went out there and should be heralded round the cenotaph. In Coventry we have a Lancaster Bomber dropping poppy petals. They don't always get on target, but we do remember -- the young and old -- so come on parishioners stand by your men.
