MEMBERS of the older generations in Rossendale are being asked to share the fun and games of their youth with the schoolchildren of today.
The Rossendale Family Forum has received a grant of £5,500 from the Local Heritage Initiative to research local songs and games from the past and produce packs for local primary school children.
The Local Heritage Initiative is run by the Countryside Agency on behalf of the Heritage Lottery Fund and Nationwide Building Society.
Project co-ordinator Alyson Cadd is researching Rossendale's heritage, particularly from the time when mills were producing cotton, felt and wool in the borough.
She is hoping to hear from anyone who can share their memories of how local children used to entertain themselves.
Anyone who can help should call Alyson on 01706 260978.
