THE Prince's Trust is working alongside Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to boost the prospects of East Lancashire teenagers.
The Trust is looking for 15 young people to join a 12-week self development course.
Applicants should be enthusiastic, aged 16 to 25, and can be employed or unemployed.
The course, which starts on January 12, will include fire safety and emergency first aid training, organising community projects and completion of the course leads to a nationally-recognised qualification.
The programme also provides workshops to improve literacy, numeracy and IT skills, offers careers guidance and assists with interviewing skills and personal presentation.
Past volunteers have gone on to full-time employment, further education and voluntary work.
An open day will be held at Accrington Road Community Centre, Blackburn, from 10am to 3 pm, January 6.
