A DARWEN plastics company has scooped a top environmental award.
Octaveward, which manufactures canopies, GRP mouldings and composite doors, won the British Green Champion title in the category for Products at the ninth Green Apple Awards.
The awards are part of one of the UK's top environmental award schemes and all winners will go to the European Environmental Awards.
More than 500 entries were received in this year's campaign from organisations that make an effort to protect or enhance the environment.
The campaign is led by the Green Organisation, an independent group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.
Representatives from Octaveward, based in Balle Street Mill, were invited to a presentation at the House of Commons where they received a trophy for their achievement.
