WOMEN and children suffering domestic violence are set to benefit from a new leaflet produced by Burnley's Community Safety Partnership.
It contains information about where they can go for confidential help and support.
The leaflet will be available through a number of outlets including Burnley Women's Refuge Association, Burnley Women's Aid, the police, community centres and health centres.
Councillor Linda Gauton, chairwoman of the partnership, said: "Domestic violence has been a hidden problem for too long and we are taking active steps to raise awareness within the community.
"It is not just about physical abuse -- emotional abuse and financial abuse are other ways that people control and dominate their partners."
She added: "Women and children need to know that they do not have to suffer in silence. Help is available."
Leaflets can also be obtained by phoning the Community Safety Partnership team at Burnley Town Hall on 01282 477241.
