FLURRIES of snow and hail turned East Lancashire into a winter 'blunderland'.
Several cars crashed into each other on the M6, partially blocking the carriageway for two hours, and traffic ground to a halt on the Grane Road between Blackburn and Haslingden.
Meanwhile, villagers were baffled by a church's mystery £25,000 windfall in a farmer's will. The 81-year-old man left the cash to St Mary's Church, Kelbrook, but the vicar could never remember the man attending church and his neighbours could not shed any light on why he gave the money to the church.
