FESTIVE revellers and church-goers in Blackburn can once again hop on the bus for free on Christmas Day.
Anyone wanting to visit relatives and enjoy the Boxing Day sales can also take advantage of special services on December 26 and New Year's Day.
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council says anyone travelling on Boxing Day and New Year's Day can pay a flat fare of £1.
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council's executive member for regeneration, Coun Andy Kay, says providing the subsidised bus services helps groups who are less likely to have access to a car over Christmas.
He said: "We are proud to once again be providing bus services for the people of Blackburn with Darwen over the Christmas and New Year period.
"We believe we are one of a very small number of local authorities across the country that support public transport for all 365 days of the year.
"This is no more relevant than at Christmas where people may wish to travel to visit relatives, visit friends or relatives in hospital, get to leisure facilities or visit the Boxing Day sales."
