THE funeral is taking place on Wednesday of one of the borough's oldest residents, who passed away at the age of 103.
Mrs Ada Davenport, of Ainsworth Road, Bury, died in hospital last Tuesday (9 Dec).
Originally from the James Street area of Bury, Mrs Davenport later lived in Ainsworth Road and regularly visited friends at Epworth Grange home for the elderly.
A fomer textile worker, she spent more than 50 years with the firm James Kenyon after leaving school at the age of 13.
Mrs Davenport leaves a daughter, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
An 11am service takes place at St Stephen's Church, Elton, before cremation at Overdale West Chapel, Bolton, at noon.
