JUST over 100 people enjoyed CRaCA's Christmas Dinner at the Fighting Cocks. A three-course meal was followed by entertainment from the Dalesmen and a disco.
A raffle held during the evening raised around £200 for the Kettledrum Football Club, and quiz sheets were also sold with proceeds going to St John's Church. CraCA made approximately £150 from the evening for their funds, which are used to help community groups and provide facilities within Cliviger.
TONIGHT there will be a Christingle Service at St John's Church, starting at 6.15pm and on Sunday at the same time there will be a carol service. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served after the service. Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve begins at 11.30pm, the next service after that will be Parish Eucharist at the regular time of 9.30am on Sunday December 28.
ST JOHN'S School Christmas Service takes place in church tomorrow at 2.15pm, with everyone welcome to join in.
On Thursday the children will have their Christmas Party day, with school finishing on Friday.
MOUNT Zion's Christmas celebrations start on Sunday, with a family service including carols and Nativity. Carols by candlelight takes place at 6pm, with music and readings.
A group of singers will make a tour of the village on Christmas Eve, singing carols, and on Christmas Day there will be a family service with communion.
A CHRISTMAS party for pensioners of the parish was held at the Gordon Lennox on Saturday afternoon.
