PENDLE'S mayor is preparing to conquer his fears and take a giant leap for charity.
Coun Mohammed Iqbal, 33, is planning a bungee jump in April to raise funds for the Mayoress' charities - the Pendle branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the neo-natal unit at Burnley General Hospital.
He has issued an appeal for potential sponsors to get in touch.
Coun Iqbal said: "I suffer from vertigo and do not like heights generally, so this is going to be a major challenge.
"But I am determined to try and raise some money for these charities as they both do such important work for the people of Pendle."
