FUND-RAISING champion Jimmy Eaton pulled out all the stops to ensure his annual Christmas party was a roaring success.
And the Bacup postman succeeded by beating all his previous parties, raising £7,000.
Jimmy, who is well known throughout the valley for his fund-raising, has raised more than £250,000 since he first started the campaign to raise money for Rossendale Hospice more than a decade ago.
The glitzy event, usually held at Rawtenstall ballroom, was forced to change venue when it closed earlier this year due to Rossendale Council's cost-cutting.
But despite the leisure hall being full to capacity, Jimmy said everybody enjoyed themselves while helping to raise money for a good cause.
The Greensclough ward councillor, said: "I think it's the most I have raised so far.
"A signed Jonny Wilkinson picture was auctioned off for £900, a tour round the House of Commons, donated by Janet Anderson, was sold for £820, a picture of Ryan Giggs went for £300 and a meal at the Rose and Bowl raised £200, which was fantastic.
"I would like to thank all the businesses that donated prizes for the auction and raffle - Lords Caters for putting on a fabulous meal and entertainment, Janet Anderson for supporting the event as she does every year and to David Edmondson who helped me organise the event.
