IT has been a year in which there has been so much in the media about violent crime and gun crime. Each time there is a crime there is outrage and calls for the government to address this crime.
The police have held amnesties and the media publicise how successful they have been.
While out shopping in Blackburn, I entered a shop which had large stocks of air pistols, which were labelled on the box as looking like real guns. The most expensive of these were £4.99.
What is in the minds of these people, making a few extra pounds is more important than the safety of our communities?
Some may say they aren't real, or they can't hurt anyone. But how would you feel if it was put in your face one dark night? Could you tell it was a toy?
These situations could easily be resolved if only people took responsibility and did not sell these guns in the first place.
