A COLNE teenager accused of murdering another young man has today denied the charge and been remanded to await trial.
Hasan Mumtaz, aged 18, of North Street, Colne, pleaded not guilty to murdering 17-year-old Sean Whyte, also of North Street, on September 29.
He also denied a charge of wounding Agnes Rennie with intent to do her grievous bodily harm and also entered a not guilty plea to violent disorder, both allegedly committed on the same date.
The defendant appeared at Preston Crown Court with his 21-year-old brother Wazim Mumtaz, of the same address, who denied a charge of violent disorder on September 29.
Hasan Mumtaz was remanded in custody while his brother was remanded on conditional bail by Judge Peter Openshaw. A trial was set for April 13 next year.
