HINDSFORD lost a close game 5-3 at home to Swinton Town on Saturday.
Swinton scored within minutes of the start with Hindsford appealing for offside but they quickly equalised when Ryan Willet headed a Darren Briggs free kick over the advancing keeper. Swinton went ahead again before Willet beat a couple of defenders and crossed for Stuart Lomax to head home at the far post. Hindsford were getting more into the game but an own goal put Swinton ahead for the third time just before half time.
Swinton scored their fourth within minutes of the restart in a goalmouth scramble and a clever a lob over the keeper soon made it five. Hindsford fought back and were unlucky when Dave Fashou beat a couple of men along the edge of the penalty and his powerful shot came back off the woodwork. However, he got his goal when he was brought down in the penalty area and scored from the spot. Hindsford hit the woodwork a second time with a superb effort from outside the box by Willet and although they continued to press they couldn't break down the Swinton defence.
On Saturday both teams are away, the 1st at Heywood St James and the reserves at Dukinfield Town. Kick off 2pm.
