THERE will be no rush to advertise for a new Bury FC manager in the wake of Andy Preece's contract termination this week.
The Shakers are fortunate to have a ready made replacement in first team coach Graham Barrow who has been appointed caretaker-boss for the foreseeable future.
Chorley-born Barrow knows only too well about the ups and downs of soccer management in the lower divisions after spells in charge of Chester City (twice), Wigan Athletic and Rochdale.
And according to director Roger Barlow the whole Gigg Lane set-up is to be reviewed once a new club chairman has been put in place.
"We are looking at the whole structure of the club and need to get the base and foundations right," he said.
"Even the manager's position is fluid in that sense and we are not ruling anything out.
"In Graham we have someone who has been around and knows the game inside out.
"As far as the club is concerned it's business as normal and the only difference is Graham has taken over first team duties."
Barrow knows all about success in the Nationwide League's basement section after leading Chester City to promotion at the end of the 1993-94 campaign.
The Seals finished runners-up to champions Shrewsbury Town that season and the powers-that-be at Gigg Lane would dearly love Barrow to repeat that feat.
And it won't have gone unnoticed that the last caretaker boss to take over the Gigg Lane reins held the job down for four years until Tuesday morning!
