GOLBORNE High School's senior steel band brought the sounds of a Caribbean Christmas to shoppers last Thursday.
Group members, who are raising money for the Blue Peter Mencap Appeal, played at Leigh Asda this morning.
When students were affected by a TV programme which showed how disabled children could not go out to clubs and in many cases had no friends, they decided they had to do something to help.
The popular band, which is one of two at the school, collected £50 for the appeal with a collection before playing.
