WIGAN Council has announced dates for household refuse and recycling collections.
There will only be one refuse collection during the two week period from Monday, December 22 to Friday, January 2.
Excess household refuse, bagged and placed alongside the bin, will be collected on the following days - If your normal collection day is Monday, your bin will be collected on Monday, December 22 and Monday, January 5 (excess collected on 5th).
Tuesday collections December 23 and January 6 (excess collected on 6th).
Wednesday collections on December 24 and January 7 (excess collected on 7th).
Normal Thursday collections will be moved to Monday, December 29 (excess collected) and Thursday, January 8 (excess collected).
Friday collections will be moved to Tuesday, December 30 (excess collected) and Friday, January 9 (excess collected).
Properties involved in the paper recycling in Mosley Common, Tyldesley, Hag Fold, Hindley Green, Hindley, Leigh (Infirmary area and Tamar), Abram, Platt Bridge and Golborne will have a paper collection on the same day as their Christmas bin collection. Normal dates resume in the New Year.
A council spokesman said: "People are reminded not to overfill bins and ensure clear access for refuse wagons. Where possible, take items for recycling
to the roadside collection points which have bottle and can banks--or use the waste recycling centres."
