A MAN caught shoplifting within minutes of being released from court on conditional bail has been remanded in custody.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Marc Fareham was a persistent offender who had shown total disregard for the order of the court.
Neil White, prosecuting, said he had been convicted of shoplifting in September, October and on December 1.
He was arrested again on December 4 for shoplifting and given bail on condition he didn't enter any shops in the town centre. He was in court on Wednesday for breaching his bail but was again released on bail.
"He got no further than T J Hughes before he was shoplifting again," said Mr White.
"Given what happened yesterday I have to ask if you can trust him with bail again."
Fareham, 31, of the Islington Motel, Bolton Road, pleaded guilty to shoplifting.
He was remanded in custody until January 8 when the magistrates will have the benefit of pre-sentence reports.
