A STRATEGY for regeneration in the most needy areas of Burnley has been launched by the Burnley Action Partnership (BAP).
The Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy contains details of positive work already underway in the town as well as challenges for the next two years.
Neighbourhood management will be put into place in the most deprived areas and multi-agency teams will help delivery services.
The first three areas to benefit will be Burnley Wood, South West Burnley and Daneshouse, including Dukes Bar.
These were selected by collecting data about the degrees of need and deprivation across the borough.
BAP chairman Brian Hobbs said: "The publication of Burnley's Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy is yet another significant achievement for BAP in raising the game in Burnley and tackling the long-standing community, economic and social problems that many of our deprived areas face.
"Burnley generally has a lot going for it and this strategy is one of several that will assist major service providers and the community, voluntary and faith sectors in improving the quality of life for all residents in Burnley."
