ROSSENDALE Borough Council's cultural services department has welcomed Maggie O'Keeffe who has been employed as arts development officer.
Maggie, who will be job-sharing with Elaine Walsh at the cultural services department, graduated from the University of Ulster in 1991 with a degree in Fine Art.
She is now in post and will be engaging in meeting contacts during the New Year.
Maggie has been practising as a visual artist, community artist and musician in Ireland for more than 10 years.
Her most recent position was with the Ballymun Regional
Youth Resource, as youth arts development worker.
In this role she helped organise, plan and deliver arts projects and programmes for young people in the area.
She also helped advocate on their behalf in devising cultural strategies for Ballymun.
