A WOMAN who underwent treatment for cancer died after developing another tumour as a result of radiotherapy, an inquest was told.
Selina Margaret Guest, 75, of Whitby Drive, Higher Croft, Blackburn, developed angiosarcoma which was caused by radiotherapy for breast cancer.
In 1999 Mrs Guest had breast cancer which was treated by the removal of some of the lymph glands under the arm and radiotherapy, the inquest heard.
East Lancashire coroner Michael Singleton said that it is a very rare complication that radiotherapy can cause another different type of tumour..
Mr Singleton recorded a verdict of death by a recognised complication of usual treatment.
