I WAS one of the councillors who sat on the Licensing Sub Committee on Wednesday night, which granted a license to a sex superstore in a residential area.
Your article failed to mention that it was granted on a two to one vote and that I personally voted against it on the grounds that it was in a residential area and that they were ignoring the advice of two of the ward councillors who had indicated they were strongly opposed to it.
I concur with my colleague Councillor Paul McGurty that it is the wrong location for such a store.
COUN D PEARSON,
Conservative Spokesperson for Licensing, Blackburn with
Darwen Council.
