A RARE treat for comedy fans is in store in the New Year when a film starring Lancashire comedy legend Frank Randle is shown at the Museum of Lancashire.
The 1953 film will be shown for the first time in years on a big screen as part of Lancashire County Council's Grin Up North comedy exhibition. In the film he gets into all sorts of scrapes and japes with co-star Diana Dors while going through his National Service.
As well as the rare screening there will also be discussion with Mike Blakeley, TV cameraman and grandson of the film's director, John E Blakeley and lecturer, writer and broadcaster C P Lee.
John McGoldrick, Grin Up North curator, said: "It's very exciting to be able to show this gem as it was intended -- on a big screen in Lancashire. It's a Grand Life shows Frank at his best with plenty of slapstick and quips."
Tickets for the event, which takes place on January 20, are £6. Contact 01772 534075 for more details.
