A BANNED driver jailed for four months after a collision which killed a 12-year-old girl has made a further appearance before Blackburn magistrates.
Aso Mohammed Ibrahim, 25, of St James Road, Blackburn, was brought before the court from custody for sentence on a charge of disqualified driving committed before the incident in which Amy Houston lost her life.
And the magistrates stressed that in sentencing Ibrahim, a failed asylum seeker, they could only deal with the offence before them and could have no regard for subsequent events.
Ibrahim was given a conditional discharge for two years and disqualified for 12 months. He was also fined £200, but enforcement will be suspended until his release from custody.
Ibrahim was sentenced to the maximum allowable under current law when he was jailed for four months for being behind the wheel when Amy ran in front of his car in Newfield Drive on November 24.
The sentence sparked widespread outrage and Amy's father, Paul Houston, of Russia Street, Accrington, said the family faced a life-sentence.
