ACCRINGTON Stanley midfielder Andy Gouck knows exactly what he wants for Christmas - at least four points from two games against his former employers Morecambe.

The Reds face the Shrimps at home on Boxing Day and then at Christie Park on New Year's Day and, having taken three points from a 2-1 win over Leigh RMI on Saturday, the 31-year-old would like at least seven points in the bag come January 2.

However, Gouck is playing down the fact that he is up against a foe who know him really well.

"Obviously you look forward to games against teams like Morecambe," said Gouck, who played 47 games scoring four goals for the Shrimps.

"Having said that, I may have played there a year and a half, but you move on.

"I am a great one for just getting on with things and playing for the moment, I don't really spend any time looking back on where I have played and what's been done."

But there is no doubting that Gouck, the hero of Stanley's 1-0 first round FA Cup win over third division Huddersfield Town, would like to add to his season's goal tally against his old club.

"I am really enjoying myself since I came to Accrington, and it's even better now the goals are going in," said Gouck, who netted the Reds' first goal at Leigh on Saturday.

"That's five for the season now, and I would like to end the season with double figures if I can.

"I have always felt I have got goals in me, and they seem to be coming now."

But Gouck will be hoping that he does not see the substitution board quite so often.

"It might be hard getting double figures for the season - I seem to be coming off earlier and earlier," joked Gouck, who was substituted after 68 minutes by manager John Coleman at Hilton Park.

"That board seems to be stuck on 18 for 12 on 65 minutes - Gouck off - I'm going to have to have a word with Coley about that!"

The clashes with Morecambe do promise to be tight affairs and Gouck has plenty of respect for the Shrimps.

"In many ways they are a lot like us," said Gouck. "At home they are very strong and have made Christie Park a fortress.

"We are a very strong side at home as well, so we are looking forward to what will be tough games.

"But counting the fact we have taken three points at Leigh, I think that we need to be looking at taking at least seven points from the nine on offer over our three Christmas games."

STANLEY have released midfielder Michael Knowles.

Knowles made 22 appearances last season, scoring once, but has failed to break into the first team this year and has spent the last few months on loan at Burscough.
