I READ Debbie Pierce's letter (December 11) and totally agree with her about the threat facing Bury Market.

The market is the heart of the town and should stay where it is but I suppose that my views, along with those of 25,000 other people, will fall on deaf ears.

The market is extremely well placed, with good access for public transport, car parks and coaches.

I would like to know whose money was used when the market was updated and a new fish hall was built? And will we all get a refund when it is unnecessarily demolished?
