CHRISTMAS is not my favourite time of year -- purely because of the commerical silliness.
However I have attended an old folk's party and this week I sat through the traditional panto "Snow White" in the company of 200 Cubs and Brownies. My ears are still ringing.
For computer age kids, boy did they enjoy the fun of the dated and most predicatable entertainment.
The booed and cheered and hissed and laughed as they have for a century.
Only the music was updated and the names of the dwarfs changed -- to Bossy, Batty, Boozy, Baggy, Dozie and Grumbly and the original Sneezy!
Though an amateur production the whole thing was delightful and magical and I'm delighted that today's advanced children still enjoy the simple things of life.
Take them to see one, they'll love it.
