GIANT Axe favourite Paul Haddow came back into the Lancaster City line-up to help fans celebrate a happy Christmas.
Haddow went to Southport last summer but never made his mark through poor form and injury - but put that behind him as he helped City dump Chorley from the Unibond President's Cup.
He was recalled to the line-up with Anthony Bauress, Neil Prince and Steve Jones all out through injury, and was involved in the move which led to Phil Wilson's men taking an early lead through a penalty converetd by Tony Sullivan.
Jamie Hughes made progress a formality with a close range header before half time.
And with City always holding the edge, Chorley's lone consolation was a penalty right at the death.
