CLITHEROE manager Lee Sculpher can't wait to get stuck into a local derby.

But the Blues player-boss will have to bide his time before taking on a neighbouring team after having their second derby of the season postponed.

After their showdown with Bacup was called off towards the end of last month, their clash with Ramsbottom at the Riverside was also a washout on Saturday.

"It was disappointing because we were all geared up to play," Sculpher said.

"The referee had a difficult decision to make. Some would say we should have played and some would say we shouldn't. We just had to abide by the referee's decision.

"But it was disappointing, more so because it wasn't called off until 1.50pm when the players were there and the supporters were on their way."

However, one benefit of not playing is the chance to allow players to recover from injury and Adam Gardner should be available, while Andy Cowking is rated 50-50 for Clitheroe's Boxing Day game with Curzon Ashton at Shawbridge.

Glen Ainsworth, Neil Spencer and Chris Whittingham are all back after suspension but Neil Reynolds is unavailable on Friday.
