GLENN Whelan has returned to Bury for a second loan spell.
The 19-year-old Manchester City midfielder spent two months with the Shakers earlier in the season.
His loan spell was cut short last month when he travelled to the United Arab Emirates with the Republic of Ireland under-20 squad for the FIFA World Youth Championships.
Dublin-born Whelan, who played eight games for Bury during his first loan spell, was expected to go straight into the squad for today's clash with Carlisle United at Gigg Lane.
