EAST Lancashire businessman Kevin Horkin mingled with the stars at a glittering event to honour screen star Julie Walters.

The entrepreneur and television presenter attended the filming of Julie Walters - a Bafta Tribute - in London, held to celebrate her 30 years in showbusiness.

The event was screened 24 hours after the final showing of Mr Horkin's own Pet Set animal show.

Now he is hoping to record a new series of his Pet Set show in the spring after increasing the audience share during a second airing.

The Pet Set, originally screened on Sunday evenings in the summer, was re-run in the primetime slot of 7.30pm pitted against Eastenders.

It achieved a 17 per cent share of viewers on its last show last week.

Now Mr Horkin is waiting for the go-ahead to start filming a 20-week series to be screened across the national network.

"It climbed every week.

"But we are waiting until the controller gives the say-so around the third week in January," he added.

It features Mr Horkin and an animal psychologist as they train to become show dog handlers.
