CHRISTMAS bargain hunters have been out in force as the sales started in Blackburn's stores.
Stephen Crolley, manager of Debenhams, said: "We had about 400 people queuing outside the front door at 9am. I have never seen a queue like it on the first day of a sale," he said.
"Menswear in particular has sold well. We had some amazing bargains, it's the first time we have opened on Boxing Day."
Arif Chati, manager of Dixons, said: "It was very scary first thing on Boxing Day morning.
"As soon as we opened the doors the customers were there. We have sold a lot of games consoles."
At Next today early birds were there for the store's 5am opening.
