A BLACKBURN family who found a stray dog in a pub on Christmas Eve are appealing for its owners to come forward so that the pet can be returned.
The mongrel dog was found cowering underneath a table in the Sir Charles Napier pub in Blackburn town centre by 19-year-old Crystal Parry.
Crystal, searched the pub in a bid to find the dog's owners but was unable to find anyone who knew the dog.
So when the bar closed she telephoned her dad, Michael, who helped her walk the dog back to the family home in Florence Street.
Michael said: "Crystal couldn't find anyone who wanted the dog so she had no choice but to bring him home to me and my wife, Christine.
"He's a friendly dog, but we already have two cats and we can't give him the time he needs to be looked after properly."
According to Michael the dog has a name tag which says his name is Bobby but a telephone number on the tag is no longer in use. The family has already contacted the police and the RSPCA but no-one has reported a missing dog that matched Bobby's description.
Anyone with more information about the dog can contact Michael Parry on 01254 722521.
